Course Overview

Aerial Endorsement

Aerial Cable is an insulated cable usually containing all conductors required for an electrical distribution system (typically using aerial bundled cables) or a telecommunication line, which is suspended between utility poles or electricity pylons

Our Aerial Cabling course is designed for participants to obtain the required skills and knowledge required to install aerial cable supports in domestic, commercial, or industrial communications applications, including digital and analog, telephony, data, video, digital broadcasting, master antenna television (MATV), cable television (CATV), closed-circuit television (CCTV), long-term evolution (LTE) computer networks, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and multimedia.

It applies to technical staff installing aerial cable for customers and carrier networks. Installations are completed outdoors on customer premises using basic rigging procedures, methods and equipment for working safely at heights.

Upon completion of this course, participants will obtain a statement of attainment.

After successfully completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Prepare site for aerial cable support construction
  • Install aerial support structures using pole and wall supports
  • Install various aerial cable using effective practices including:
    o integral bearer
    o self supporting
    o stranded support (catenary)

The aerial cabling endorsement costs $285 in blended mode or $300 face-to-face. Please refer to the pricing section on this page for the most up-to-date fees.

How long does it take?

Up to 1 day face-to-face, or half a day in blended mode with theory completed online beforehand.

What certification do I receive?

A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment covering ICTCBL335 and ICTCBL333 — the ACMA aerial endorsement for cabling suspended between poles and pylons.

Do I need any prerequisites?

No formal entry requirements; ACMA Open Registration is recommended, and Work Safely at Heights is strongly advised for aerial work.
