Course Overview

The Working Safely at Heights course provides individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to work safely at height in the resources and infrastructure industries.

The course focuses on understanding how to identify hazards, manage risks, and correctly use different types of fall protection equipment, including when working in challenging or adverse environments.

Individuals will also learn about key safety legislation, how it applies in the workplace, and the limitations of height safety systems and equipment.

This course is suitable for students working in operational roles who usually work under supervision. Participants will follow established routines and procedures and take responsibility for the quality and safety of their own work.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify hazards and risks associated with working at heights
  • Apply control measures to reduce the risk of falls
  • Select and correctly use fall protection equipment
  • Recognise the limitations of height safety systems
  • Work safely at heights in different environmental conditions
  • Understand relevant WHS/OHS legislation and workplace procedures

Upon successful completion, individuals will receive a statement of attainment.
