This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a community, home or residential setting who work under supervision and address the needs of clients within an aged care or disability support context.
These individuals take responsibility for their own outputs within the scope of their job role and delegation of duties. Employees have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centered support.
The skill in this qualification requires the use of work practices in relation with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
Work Placement Requirement:
As a requirement of this course, you will be required to complete work placement totaling 120 hours in a community, home or residential setting. This hands-on industry experience will prepare you for your future career.
If you are already employed in chosen industry you may be able to complete your work placement at your current workplace subject to employer meeting required requirements.
If you are not currently employed in chosen industry, we recommend finding a workplace as soon as you are enrolled into qualification.
On successful completion of the course and assessment requirements, participants will be issued a Qualification Certificate and Transcript of Record in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). If a student does not complete all units required, they will be issued a statement of attainment for the units completed.
