CCTV Installation

Course Overview

VSS is a surveillance system capable of capturing images and videos that can be compressed, stored or sent over communications networks, and includes closed circuit television (CCTV) and audio systems.

Our CCTV Installation course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to install a range of video surveillance systems (VSS) and equipment inclusive of selecting and using materials, tools and equipment to install VSS and equipment using approved cable termination methods and procedures.

This work applies to extra low voltage environments as defined in Australian Standards AS/NZS 62676 series specifically parts AS/NZS 62676.1.1:2020, AS/NZS 62676.1.2:2020 and AS/NZS 62676.4:2020 and involves applying National Construction Code (NCC) requirements to the installation.

The course is suitable for those with basic skills and knowledge undertaking routine work tasks under the direction of more experienced workers.

Licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to advising on, supplying, installing, maintaining, monitoring, repairing and servicing security equipment in some states and territories. For further information, check with the relevant regulatory authority.

Upon completion of this course, participants will obtain a statement of attainment.

After successfully completing this course, you will be able to

• install CCTV and audio systems
• conduct diagnosis of faults
• carry out maintenance activities
• carry out service activities on security equipment and systems
• plan and coordinate installation of security equipment and system
• adhere to and support OHS and risk control procedures
