ACMA Cable Hauling

Course Overview

This course is designed for individuals who wish to obtain the skills and knowledge required to haul underground cables for maintenance, new installations or upgrades in access networks or customer premises.

It applies to technicians who install and recover cables, including multi-pair, coaxial and optical fibre for domestic, commercial or industrial situations and those who install cable for new installations and upgrades to telecommunications cabling infrastructure for communications applications including broadcasting or reception (digital video broadcasting – terrestrial [DVB-T], satellite [DVB-S], long term evolution [LTE]), closed-circuit television (CCTV), digital and analog, telephony, data, video, computer networks, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), fibre optic networks and multimedia.

Upon completion of this course, participants will obtain a statement of attainment.

These courses are designed for technicians who are obtaining or currently hold an Open Cabling Registration and are seeking to acquire the required units of competency to be able to add the underground endorsement to their registration.

These courses are available as standalone options for technicians who specialise in certain cabling however, it is found most technicians like to add them all to their license.
