Language, Literacy and Numeracy
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills are really important LLN skills are used every day for many of the activities we do and where we interact with systems particularly in our social, education and work arenas. Today’s activities need differing levels of reading, writing, listening, speaking and numeracy skills, so people need to continually develop and adapt these skills to suit new situations. This is particularly important when you are looking at completing training. To successfully undertake training, we need to know what your current LLN level is to evaluate it against the skills required to complete your course. Our online Language, Literacy and Numeracy Indicator Tool has been developed to evaluate your skills in the 5 core skills that make up the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF):
- Reading
- Writing
- Learning
- Oral Communication
- Numeracy
These skills have been identified as the basic skills required to complete a training course and be successful in the workplace. Our online test will take 20 to 30 minutes to complete. You will need a set of headphones (or speakers and a quiet environment) to complete the test. If we identify any issues with your LLN skills, when you enroll we will provide you with a learning supplement and some advice on how to seek help to enable you to successfully undertake our courses.
