Patrick Scharf

National Training Operations Manager

Patrick Scharf has over 40 years’ experience across the electrotechnology, automation, IT, telecommunications and vocational education sectors.

He has worked within mining, industrial, commercial, maintenance and domestic electrotechnology industry sectors, progressing through to an educational administrator in teaching trade apprentices and Associate Diploma programs to Paraprofessionals from the electrical industry. He has also been a state industry consultant with the energy sector peak body in Queensland, Energy Skills Queensland. Additionally , he has been the National Training Manager for a Tier One telecommunication subcontracting service provider, undertaking the National Broadband Rollout in Australia. Patrick has also spent five years as a voluntary board director for the peak sporting body of Yachting Queensland.

Patrick holds a Batchelor of Adult Vocational Education (Griffith University), Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering (University of Southern Queensland), Graduate Certificate in Applied Science (University of Queensland), Certificate in Electronics, and an Unrestricted Electrical Trade licence.

Patrick currently is the chairperson of the Telecommunications Industry Leaders and Training Group, one of the sector advisory groups within Energy Skills Queensland. He has participated in voluntary advisory roles with the electrotechnology and telecommunications training package peak bodies for the past 10 years.
