Learning Outcomes

After successfully completing this course, you will be able to

  • comply with environmental regulations and improve resource efficiency
  • connect up, test and verify DC and AC circuitry, evaluate analog and digital signals, and perform cable selection
  • operate hand and power tools
  • install an IP device
  • conduct work in line with WHS practice and regulations
  • deliver a service to customers
  • manage remote power feed, install cables and protective earth wires
  • install telecommunications network and equipment, configure and test system
  • haul and install underground cable

After completion of this course and all assessments, you will be issued with the Nationally Recognised Qualification ICT20315 Certificate II in Telecommunications Technology. For successful completion of this course, you need to complete and demonstrate competency in these units of competency:

Course Duration and Delivery Method

This qualification is delivered as blended learning with face-to-face sessions held at the MILCOM training centre over 6-12 months (not including holiday breaks). Learners will work through course material with a trainer and complete assessments during class and during non-class allocated time. Classes may be scheduled at alternative, mutually convenient and suitable locations and can be contextualised for a sufficiently large groups of participants.
